Non-Religious Sobriety Groups Groups like AA and NA help a lot of people. However if they go for long enough the new member finds a lot of pressure to assign their success to a god, in specific the Judeo-Christian god. This can be hard for non-believers. If someone needs a lot of support I will tell them to go to both AA (because they meet a lot all over the place) and one of the following groups. They also have websites which the person trying to get sober may find useful.
